Damon Lindelof Star Wars Universe
Damon Lindelof who is popularly known for his works on series and shows such as Lost as well as Peacock’s new show Mrs. Davis was “asked to leave” the Star Wars universe, he stated in an interview with Esquire. Word quickly went around in the previous year that he was working and developing a new Star Wars movie, but it was reported by Variety back in March that he left the project, and when three new Star Wars films were announced by Disney in the early parts of this month, the creator was not attached to any of them.
“I was in more than talks to join the Star Wars universe,” he stated. “I joined the Star Wars universe. I was asked to leave the Star Wars universe.”
Lindelof Working on a Film with Sharmeen Obaidd-Chinoy
Lindelof for some time now has been working on a film with Sharmeen Obaidd-Chinoy, who had directed two episodes of Ms. Marvel and is also taking the helm at one of three new movies. The movie by Obaid-Chinoy follows Rey Skywalker who is played once again by Daisy Ridley, as she continues to work on building a new Jedi Order.
Lindelof Is Open to Working on the Franchise Down The Line
And even though he is not part of a Star Wars movie at the moment, Lindelof is open to working on the franchise down the line if the opportunity ever presents itself. “Will I get back in line outside the club and try to get back in again? Of course,” he said. “[Star Wars] was the alpha and the omega. It’s the first movie I saw in a movie theater. I love all of the storytelling in that world. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Or again, again, try, as Yoda would say.”
