Our Kids’ Climate believes all children, now and in the future, have the right to inherit a healthy planet that is rooted in renewable energy and built through intergenerational solidarity.

This fellowship, scheduled to take place in 2024, is designed to support parent-led, intergenerational, and family-focused initiatives addressing climate issues.

Climate Parent Fellowship 2024

To support the crucial efforts of parents, grandparents, and caregivers at the forefront of combating climate change, the Climate Parent Fellowship 2024 has opened applications for fellowships. This unique opportunity, as mentioned above, aims to empower parent-led, intergenerational, and family-focused initiatives that address climate challenges.

The Climate Parent Fellowship is a prestigious program offering support and resources to individuals engaged in family-centered, intergenerational, and parent-led climate organizing. Successful applicants will have the chance to receive a part-time stipend and grants ranging from $15,000 to $20,000 USD.

Beyond financial assistance, fellows will join a vibrant peer-to-peer learning network and gain access to training, discussions, communications support, and one-on-one mentorship.

Eligibility Criteria for Climate Parent Fellowship 2024

  • The fellowship welcomes applications from inspiring organizers, activists, and leaders involved in climate initiatives.
  • Candidates with innovative concepts, organizational strategies, and a collaborative spirit are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • While parent-led climate involvement is a focal point, non-parent applicants interested in engaging people of all ages are also eligible.
  • Diversity and inclusivity are key values for the Climate Parent Fellowship. All candidates, regardless of background, are encouraged to apply.
  • The program seeks to represent the Global South, ensuring that at least half of the appointed fellows come from regions disproportionately affected by environmental injustice.
  • Applicants from the Global North with diverse histories, identities, and skills are highly valued.

Climate Engagement Strategies

The Fellowship seeks to support a diverse array of climate engagement and movement strategies. This includes artistic expressions such as

  • Storytelling,
  • Film
  • Blogs
  • Podcasts, and
  • Social media campaigns.

Educational approaches like school campaigns and legal strategies are also welcomed. Fellows are encouraged to pursue programs that promote sustainable behavior, grassroots/community organizing, corporate-focused efforts, and more.

About Our Kid’s Climate

Our Kids’ Climate, a small team of campaigns, and communications experts, was founded by Jill Kubit and  Frida Berry Eklund, a climate communicator and author. The team believes in the power of the parent voice and intergenerational solidarity to drive climate action.

Meanwhile, Our Kids’ Climate team is supported by a large community of experts and consultants, including Xoli Fuyani, Rowan Ryrie, Amuche Nnabueze and Anja Mondragon, Nina Subramani and Mary DeMocker, Sarah Roberts, and Tinuke Otoki.
