Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative
The Carrington Youth Fellowship Program for student entrepreneurs was founded in 2011 by the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria. The Fellowship is a youth-based Program for all suitably qualified Candidates.
The primary aim of the program is to empower young Nigerians with proactive engagement, training, collaboration, and networking opportunities. CYFI seeks to promote career development, build organizations, and drive active citizenry among the youth.
Program Objectives
The Entrepreneurship Program under the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Skill Enhancement: Provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the business landscape effectively.
- Adaptability: Enable students to adapt to the evolving business environment and embrace emerging trends and technologies.

Eligibility Criteria
All interested Candidates must meet the criteria below to be considered for the CYFI Entrepreneurship Program 2023:
- The Candidate should be a student currently in tertiary institutions
- He/She must demonstrate excellent leadership abilities
- The applicant must not be over 18 – 35 years
- Must be available to commit about three to four hours weekly to the program from August to November
- The Entrepreneurship program is open to students in tertiary institutions in Lagos State only
