According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, Apple has an array of releases lined up for the spring, but it may not hold a large event to announce them. This decision is not entirely unprecedented, as Apple has skipped spring events in the past, including last year. However, considering the expected launch of numerous devices, it’s somewhat surprising.
One of the most anticipated releases is a revamped iPad Pro featuring an OLED screen and an M3 chip. The design of Apple’s top-tier tablet has remained largely unchanged since its 2018 refresh, adopting the flat-sided design seen across the company’s product lineup. Alongside the iPad Pro, updates to the iPad Air are expected, including a new 12.9-inch version in addition to the usual 10.9-inch model. These would mark the first new iPad releases since 2022.
A New Apple Pencil Is Also On the Horizon
Rumors suggest a new Apple Pencil is also on the horizon, although details are scarce. Speculations include new interchangeable magnetic tips for different art styles and the integration of Find My functionality. Additionally, redesigned accessories like a Magic Keyboard encased in aluminum have been hinted at for the iPad Pro, enhancing its laptop-like appearance.
Spring rumors also point towards the release of M3 chip-equipped 13- and 15-inch MacBook Airs. While these updates may not bring significant changes apart from more powerful chips, they would represent the first updates to the MacBook Air lineup since 2022.

Looking ahead, Apple’s next major event is expected to be the World Wide Developer Conference in June. Gurman predicts significant updates, including advancements in generative AI and updates to the company’s operating systems. iOS 18, in particular, is anticipated to undergo substantial revisions, marking one of the most significant software overhauls for the iPhone.
