During the company’s reveal of the 2022 range rover, the announcement was made. The range rover 2022 is a redesign of the company’s fifth generation of its luxury SUV that is loaded with lots of tech.
The range rover 2022 SUV also features an electric architecture that supports over-the-air software updates and also sits on a newly improvised flexible architecture that will be the basis of future models from the brand including plug-in hybrids and electric variants.
The land rover brand did not give many details regarding its upcoming electric SUV. Although if given a close look to its parent company, jaguar land over, one might have seen this coming before now. Jaguar land rover back in 2017 said that all the new vehicles from the jaguar and land rover brands will offer an electric or hybrid option from 2020 and beyond.
According to the landrover, the 2022 range rover will come in a mild hybrid variant, and also a plugin hybrid version of the new range rover will be coming in 2023. Auto enthusiasts should also know that the extended-range plug-in hybrid that is set for a 2023 release date will be outfitted with an inline six-cylinder engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, a 105 kW electric motor, and a 38.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with a usable capacity of 31.8kWh. The combo will help provide up to 62 miles of pure electric vehicle range and also have 434 horsepower.
The 2022 Range Rover
The 2022 range rover however will be offered in an array of variants with the usual standard and long-wheelbase body designs, six and eight-cylinder powertrains, and seating options. The SUV will have a range rover P400 SE, a mild hybrid with a 3.0L turbocharged engine that produces 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. It will have a base price of $104,000 and this does not include taxes or the $1,350 destination fee.
The 2022 range rover SUV lineup tops out with the P530 first edition, a long wheelbase body design with a 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque and the pricing starts at $163,500 not including taxes and other fees.
Other Tech Features Of the 2022 Range Rover
Other notable techy highlights on the 2022 range rover SUV include an all-new electric vehicle architecture called the internally EVA 2.0. This feature will allow the company to communicate wirelessly with over 70 electronic modules and this is according to land rover. Do you know what this means?

Other tech functions that will be added to this SUV are apple car play and android auto. These in-car platforms will bring the functions of a smartphone to the central screen of the vehicle.
