Academy For Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) 2023
The Academy For Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), is a newly launched Program by the U.S. Embassy in partnership with SELFINA. The program is designed to support the development of women entrepreneurs across the globe. AWE is established with the vision of reaching out to 50 million women entrepreneurs by the year 2025.
The forum is committed to providing women entrepreneurs with the required Knowledge, tools, and network to transform their innovative ideas into businesses.
This will be achieved through online learning platforms, in which women are expected to polish their business skills and connected with mentors to materialize their business ideas.

Benefits and Objectives of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)
Objectives:
- The AWE Program is designed with the aim of allocating resources to women entrepreneurs to enable them to participate in U.S online education which is facilitated by ECA alumni and local women business leaders.
- The program aims to establish platforms for AWE participants to have access to mentorship, business partners network, and maximizing business opportunities in the region and in the U.S.
- The Academy for Women Entrepreneurship (AWE) will provide access to varieties of programs channeled to women’s economic empowerment.

Eligibility Criteria for Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) 2023
The following are eligible:
- AWE is open to all aspiring or startup women entrepreneurs with a viable business idea
- Eligible for Women entrepreneurs who fall within 20 to 45 years
- Nationals of Tanzania who are residing in Pemba and Mara
- Prospective Candidates are expected to be available and committed to joining the program from July to September 2023, which takes place in Pemba, and then from October to December 2023 in Mara.
- Be available to participate in the English language classes for a duration of two weeks, with eight hours per week for up to 13 weeks of AWE training.
- Applicants are expected to have basic computer knowledge and a working laptop
- Must easily understand English (writing and speaking)
