Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) is a platform that ignites the flames of innovation and entrepreneurship across the African continent. As the flagship philanthropic program of the Jack Ma Foundation, ABH is on a mission to empower and celebrate the brightest minds and boldest visionaries who are driving positive change in their communities.
The ABH Prize Competition is designed for eligible African entrepreneurs. Offering them the chance to showcase their talents, solve pressing problems, and build a brighter future for Africa. This year marks the sixth edition of the competition, set to launch on March 4th, 2024.
ABH Prize Competition – Overview
The ABH Prize Competition is its commitment to inclusivity and entrepreneurs from all African countries. Sectors and age groups are invited to apply, provided their businesses are formally registered and headquartered in Africa. With a proven three-year track record.
Selected finalists of the ABH Prize Competition not only get the opportunity to pitch their ideas in the grand finale but also receive extensive exposure through high-quality video narratives produced by ABH. These narratives not only highlight their entrepreneurial journeys but also attract media attention and investor interest.
Benefits of the ABH Prize Competition 2024 for African Entrepreneurs
- The ABH Prize Competition provides tangible support to help entrepreneurs scale their ventures. With prizes totaling $1.5 million, including a whopping $300,000 for the first prize winner, participants have the chance to secure the funding they need to take their businesses to new heights.
- Finalists also gain access to an exclusive community of like-minded entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors, opening doors to invaluable networking opportunities and strategic partnerships.

Requirements
- Prospective Candidates must be the Founder or a Co-Founder of the company.
- Applicants must prove to be of African nationality. This includes presenting an African citizenship
- The Company must be based in Africa
- The said business must be registered and headquartered in an African country and primarily operates in Africa.
- Also, the company should be in the post-idea stage (3 years old or more) and has a minimum of 3 years of revenue history
