Who does not celebrate Halloween? Do you know? Halloween is a very popular day in the US and other regions of the world. But although it is very popular not everyone celebrates or even likes it for the matter.

Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays in the US. What does this tell you about the holiday and the celebration? It simply means that is loved by a huge chunk of the American population. But when it comes to other parts of the world, the traditions and cultures of Halloween are slightly different from one another.

To those persons who celebrate it (Halloween), it is great fun. But there are some people or religions that do not condone it, they seriously do not like it or have beliefs that go against it. Although Halloween is now a secular holiday it has both pagan and catholic origins. October 31st is all hallows eve which is the evening before all saints day.

October 31st also is the night and day of the old Celtic Samhain festival where locals would dress up in costumes to ward off evil spirits. Children also go door to door trick or treating asking for food from neighbors in exchange for songs, prayers or poems in respect t the dead. The old Celts believe that the veil between the land of the living and of the dead on that very day is fragile and the dead would roam the face of the earth.

Some Religions That Don’t Celebrate Halloween

There are lots of persons that do not celebrate Halloween. In fact, many cultures religions, and countries all over the world have their own special day where they celebrate the dead. From Asia to Europe the day of the dead all differs. But even though it is popular in some regions there are some regions on the other hand where it is not celebrated at all. There are also some individual people who do not buy into the whole idea of Halloween.

When talking about religions that do not celebrate Halloween there is a handful of them. The first up on the list is the Jehovah’s witnesses. This set of people do not celebrate only Halloween, they also do not celebrate any Holiday or even birthdays for the matter. Some Christians also do not celebrate Halloween as they see it to be associated with Satanism and paganism. With that being said they are against celebrating it.

Orthodox Jews also do not celebrate Halloween. The main reason they do not celebrate it is due to its origins as a Christian holiday. Other Jews on the other hand may celebrate it or may not. Muslims also do not celebrate it due to its origins in other religions and it’s as simple as that.
