WhatsApp now lets its users text their selves inside of the chat app which can be very helpful in the situation that you want to save a quick link or you want to jot down a reminder for later.

This is a feature that is already available in other texting apps such as slack and signal and it also provides another means of organizing for anyone that wishes to spend much of their time invested in the chat app anyway.

Why the Feature Is Important

Personally, I will text myself most times when I need a quick way to move a web browser link from my phone to my desktop computer. With this very method through WhatsApp, I can now easily text it back to myself from my phone, launch WhatsApp on my computer, and then start clicking away.

How the Whole Process Works

Beginning a text thread with yourself on WhatsApp is the same process as texting anyone else on the platform, you will tap on the new chat icon and then your very own contact will be available at the top of the list with a status of “Message Yourself.” All you need to do now is to tap on your contact and then you can start texting from there.

When Will the Global Rollout of the Feature Start?

WhatsApp started a global rollout of the feature this week and with that being said it should show up within the app when it is finally available.
