Graduate Admission Requirements for CSU
CSU has a minimum requirement for admission to graduate or post-baccalaureate studies. The minimum requirement for admission is in accordance with the university regulations as well as Title 5, chapter 1, subchapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations. Generally, a student will qualify for admission if he or she;
- Has completed a four-year college course of study and holds an acceptable baccalaureate;
- Is in good academic standing at the last college or university attended;
- Has attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned baccalaureate degree;
- Has attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 (A = 4.0)in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted;
- Meets the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study, including qualifying examinations and specific course and/or grade prerequisites, as appropriate campus authorities may prescribe.
But at times, due to some circumstances, a campus may make exceptions to these criteria. Also, note that graduate students must apply to the university and also to a specific graduate program. If a student meets the minimum requirements for graduate and post-baccalaureate studies, she will be considered for admission.
