Harry Potter Multiplayer Game

Warner Bros. has just revealed the existence of a new Harry Potter game. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions game is a competitive multiplayer that is based on the fictional sport which is popularized by the Harry Potter novels.

The website of the game is a little bare, thus featuring just a sign-up portal to be a play tester and then a lengthy FAQ highlighting the details about the game, its publisher, Portkey Games, as well as the level of involvement of noted and vocal transphobe J.K. Rowling, who has stated that trans women are “predators” and that they should therefore be disallowed from “single gender” spaces. The FAQ does not say just when the game will be released or on what platforms it will be released but it, however, does denote that it has been in development for a couple of years now.

Hogwarts Legacy, which is the open-world-ish Harry Potter game that is taking place hundreds of years before the events of the book took place, did not feature Quidditch as an activity, and it is however possible that Quidditch Champions takes place in the same era. The real-world sports league which is based on the game interestingly changed its name to Quadball to not only dodge Warner Bros. copyright lawyers but to also to distance the game from its openly transphobic creator.

HBO Has  Ordered A 10-Year-Long Series Based On The Harry Potter Books

And despite the views of its creator as well as the harm those views have done to the trans community, the Harry Potter IP train keeps a-chugging with HBO Max which is now known as just Max, announcing that it has ordered a 10-year-long series that is based on the books. And when asked about the transphobic views of Rowlings and how that will affect the new series, Casey Bloys, HBO chair sidestepped the question and then affirmed that Rowling will be involved.
