UNICEF StartUp Lab 2024 (Up to GHS 32,000) | How to Apply Now

Applications are currently being accepted for the UNICEF StartUp Lab 2024, a six-month accelerator program launched in 2019, dedicated to impactful startups and businesses contributing to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for children and young people.

Participants in the UNICEF StartUp Lab gain access to individual mentorship, a network of UN System partners, prototyping funding, and various other support mechanisms.

  • Funding: Each startup receives up to GHS 32,000 for product development
  • Investment: Global funding opportunities, including the UNICEF Venture Fund

  • Knowledge: Direct access to resources and social sector program experts
  • Resources: Technology perks for participating startups


  • Operational for 1+ year
  • Registered business in Ghana (no NGOs, foundations, or individuals)
  • Technology is the core enabler of the business
  • Business model with a social impact addressing at least one SDG
  • Open-source solutions or willingness to open-source their solutions
  • Startups with female founders/co-founders are encouraged to apply
  • Inclusion of startups from all regions of Ghana
  • Strong encouragement for startups related to Health Tech, EdTech, Urban Tech, Climate Action, Fintech, and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) to apply

Application Requirements

  • They are looking for 5 startups each from the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern regions of Ghana, totalling 25 participants in the cohort.
