Although the iPhone 15 is still a long way from us, already we have been hearing rumors about it, however, new to the pile is an analyst prediction that the Pro models are going to get solid-state, haptic buttons that do not move physically and sit flush with the body of the phones.

That is however according to Barclays analysts Vlayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley which is also based on the comments made by the CEO of Cirrus Logic, John Forsyth via MacRumors. Already, Circus Logic supplies some of the haptic technology that is present in the current iPhones.

Why You Should Take This Rumor Seriously

The company however has mentioned new components that are coming to the market in the second part of the coming year which is coincidentally when apple will be bringing out new iPhones. And with that being said, you can now see why people are putting the pieces together.

These set of buttons make use of vibrations in simulating the sensation of them when touched, even though they do not move actually.

Previous iPhone 15 Assumptions

This very assumption backs up a prediction that we have heard from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, back in October this year. The analyst thinks that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro max if that is what they will be called, will be going without any physical buttons although they will still be attached to the cheaper iPhone 15 models apparently.

We should be finding out for sure in September 2023. And going with solid-state buttons would greatly improve water resistance and also reduce the chance of mechanical failure although, in our own honest opinion, you will not be getting a satisfying click feeling.
