One of the biggest changes that is set to arrive with the iPhone 15 handset could be the setup of a physical button. And new leaks in that regard have suggested that apple is going to be switching to a unified volume button and a new type of mute button, well at least on the Pro models of the lineup.
This rumor is coming from ZoneOfTech via MacRumors and 9to5Mac. And with that being said, it seems that the rumor has some kind of momentum behind it. The idea also is backed up by the unofficial renders that have been making the rounds all over the place in the last couple of weeks.
Certain Models Of The iPhone 15 would Be Doing Away with the Physical Buttons
We already have heard various reports before the latest revelations that certain models of the iPhone 15 would be doing away with the physical buttons in favor of solid-state ones that will make use of haptic feedback in registering press rather than an actual mechanism. And with everything that is going on right now, it now seems very much likely that this will be the case.
There are two volume buttons that are separated on the current iPhone 14 with one for up and the other for down on the left-hand side as you take a look at the screen. And just above them is a slider switch that helps to mute and unmute the device depending on the position that it’s on.
The Volume Buttons Will Now Be One Single Button
As per these new rumors, as well as making the switch to solid-state, the volume buttons will now be one single button. And in addition, the mute button also will switch to a solid state and will require a press to switch between modes rather than just a slide.
