I think that Ted Lasso has finally found another medium to immortalize himself. On Wednesday, EA Sports announced that AFC Richmond and their beloved coach; Lasso will be playable characters in FIFA 23. That being said, the game is set to be released on September 30 and it will also mark the final installment in the series.

Fans of the series can now take on the role of their favorite Greyhound from the Apple TV Plus show and this is including Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, and Sam Obisanya. Players can make use of several game modes like career mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies, or Online Seasons in order to become Ted Lasso or AFC Richmond according to EA.

The Release of the Game Will Be Coming With Customizable Kits and Many Other Options

Players should also know that the release of the game will be coming with customizable kits as well for the fictional football club, as well as tifos and feature the popular Nelson Stadium.

Players will have the option to select Ted Lasso to lead AFC Richmond or another team in FIFA. You should also know that you can choose a different coach for Greyhounds, create your very own manager or create a player from nothing to join the team.

Jason Sudeikis and Goldstein’s Reaction to the News

Ted Lasso has had quite a stellar year, after winning a couple of Emmy’s, earning 11 awards for the cast and show. Star of the show Jason Sudeikis has shown his excitement for the upcoming EA game release while Brett Goldstein on the other hand joked about not putting the Roy Kent CGI rumors to rest.

“I am truly fortunate and deeply grateful, to have had many special moments in my career thus far, and I consider this experience among the best of them,” Sudeikis said. “As long-time fans of EA SPORTS FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the whole AFC Richmond squad incorporated into the newest version of the game is truly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the fellas.”

Goldstein added in a statement that “It is so f***ing cool to be in FIFA. I’m not sure this is going to help dispel the CGI rumors but f*** it, totally worth it.”
