Now that the year is underway, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 rumors are coming really fast, and all of the latest from the rumor mill points straight to the camera setup of the foldable.
And according to a new report from Vietnamese tech outlet The Pixel, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 could manage to swap out the 50MP rear camera that is used by its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 for a better and more powerful 108MP rear sensor, something of the sort that is featured in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Also suggested by The Pixel is that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 could feature a 64MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide snapper. The setup in question would directly trump the 10MP telephoto sensor of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but however, lose out on the 3x optical zoom capabilities of the latter.
The last point made however made use to exercise some degree of caution over the rumors. And while it is undoubtedly exciting to think that we might get to finally see a foldable phone that is capable of matching up with non-foldable in the department of photography, it is difficult to imagine Samsung giving the Galaxy Z Fold 5 weaker optical zoom capabilities than its predecessor.

The camera setup of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 marked a really important improvement over the equivalent sensors of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which makes us a tad bit skeptical that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 would be featuring yet another significant upgrade to its snapper.
And of course, we do not expect some form of photographic improvements from the Galaxy Z Fold 5 over the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but however, we are hesitant to trust the rumors of a 108MP rear sensor and a 64MP telephoto lens at this point in time.
