Tech company Apple could now include a new iPhone tier to its lineup called “Ultra”. This very model is set to be more expensive than the Pro and Pro Max models according to a report by Bloomberg on Sunday. This new iPhone tier could be released alongside the iPhone 16 lineup in the coming year, 2024 according to the report.
Apple already has used the Ultra name in differentiating its top model smartwatch, the Apple Watch Ultra, as well as the top version of its M1 processor. The report claims Apple has discussed adding an Ultra model iPhone internally, but however, how his very phone would be different from the Pro and Pro Max iPhone models besides its price is currently not known.
What CEO Tim Cook Has To Say About the Development
And according to the report in the earnings call of apple last week, CEO Tim Cook said that he believes that people will pay more for a better product.
“I think people are willing to really stretch to get the best they can afford in that category,” Tim Cook said according to the report.
And with that being said, apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 lineup this very fall. And while much is not known about this new lineup, there are news and rumors in regard to what could be included in the new smartphones. One rumor is that all new iPhones will have USB-C ports for charging abilities. In 2022, the EU ruled that USB-C will be the universal charging cable for all phones beginning in 2024.
Other iPhone 15 Rumors
Another rumor in regard to the iPhone 15 is that the prices for all models of the smartphone will spike. The US prices currently for iPhone 14 models range from $829 to $1,599.
