Questbridge Scholarship

QuestBridge Scholarships 2023 are fully funded scholarships that are available to American students. These scholarships are only available to graduating high school seniors. The scholarship covers the full four-year program, which is worth more than $200,000.

The Texas Match the Promise Foundation encourages families to save for college by providing matching scholarships and tuition grants to participants in the state’s prepaid tuition plan, the Texas Tuition Promise Fund.

QuestBridge collaborates with 40 prestigious colleges and universities in the United States to provide the National College Match scholarship. The scholarship pays for the entire cost of attendance at each college, including tuition, room and board, travel expenses, and books and supplies, with no parental contribution or student loans.

It should be noted, however, that the scholarship may require student participation in the form of work-study or student savings.

The Two Levels of Scholarships Offered by Quest Bridge

Here are the scholarships under Quest Bridge Scholarship;

Promise Scholarship

A one-time grant of $2,000 in tuition units at today’s prices will be given to the recipients of this scholarship. Matching Scholarships will be awarded to up to 150 of the highest-scoring applicants. Promise Scholarships will be awarded to the top five applicants.

Matching Scholarship

Up to $500 in tuition unit purchases by participants will be matched with the same type of tuition units. Scholarship recipients with a family income of $75,000 or less will be matched two-to-one. All other scholarship recipients will be matched one-to-one.

QuestBridge scholarships will provide the following benefits to the recipient:

Eligibility Criteria for Questbridge Scholarship

To qualify for the Questbridge scholarship, you must meet the following requirements;

  • Language required: English
  • Eligible Country: USA citizen, permanent resident, or high school student, regardless of citizenship, attending high school in the U.S
  • You must have A’s in the most challenging courses available including honors, AP, or IB-level courses.
  • You must have SAT or PSAT scores of over 1310.
  • You must have good evidence of strong writing ability, intellectual spark, and determination through essays and recommendation letters.
  • You must have ACT composite scores of above 28.
  • Also, your class rank must be in the top 5-10% of the graduating class.

How to Apply for Questbridge Scholarship

To apply for this scholarship, you must have the following materials;

  • The online application for National College Match, which includes two essays and short answer questions
  • Two letters of recommendation from core academic teachers
  • Your high school counselor’s Secondary School Report
  • A School Description (optional, but recommended)
  • A high school diploma.
  • Any results from standardized tests. SAT and/or ACT test scores are strongly advised.

Applicants can submit their applications at the end of September. Applicants will rank up to 12 college partners for consideration in October. Applicants will be notified whether they have been chosen as finalists later in October.

Finalists will then be required to submit additional materials for the colleges they have ranked. Those who have been matched with a college can relax in December knowing they have a full four-year scholarship to their college!

If you were not selected in October to be a finalist, and you did not match with a college, you can apply again and to additional schools as part of Questbridge’s regular decision without any application fee.

Can You Apply to Harvard With Questbridge?

No, you can only use Questbridge to apply to their college partners, which include MIT, CalTech, Stanford, UChicago, and some Ivy League schools. Harvard, Cornell, the University of California, and most state universities are not affiliated with Questbridge.

Yale accepts 776 early action applicants and matches them with 66 QuestBridge finalists. The Class of 2027 students were chosen from 7,744 applicants, the second-largest group in Yale College history.
