PlayStation Plus Final Fantasy VII Surprise. If you happen to own a copy of the Final Fantasy VII Remake via PlayStation Plus, then we have some great news for you.
Square Enix has announced that PlayStation Plus copies of the Final Fantasy VII Remake would soon be eligible for the update to the PlayStation 5 version of the game. Since those users never thought that they would be able to upgrade, this likely would come to them as a real pleasant surprise indeed.
PlayStation Plus Final Fantasy VII Surprise
When Final Fantasy VII Remake was offered via the PS Plus back in March, Square Enix and Sony made sure that copies that were claimed using the service would not be available for the update to the version on PS5. Those that are looking forward to playing on Sony’s latest would be required to purchase the PS5 version separately. This was stated by the company, and it has remained so till recently.
Well, Square Enix stated through Twitter today that PlayStation Plus owners of the Final Fantasy VII Remake would indeed be able to upgrade straight from the PS5 version of the game, dubbed the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Those updates would be made available starting on Wednesday, so you have a long Christmas weekend coming up, then you should be able to enjoy the Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 5.
Final Fantasy VII Upgrade Price
While the tweet on Square Enix did not state anything concerning if the upgrade would be free, Polygon reports that there would be an attached fee to it. Currently, we are not aware of how much the fee would be currently, we should be expecting a charge on the lower end like $10 or something smaller.
Today, Square Enix also stated that the DLC expansion for Final Fantasy VII Remake intergrades, Episode INTERmission, will get discounted by 25% starting from this Wednesday.
This expansion happens to feature Yuffie Kisaragi and shows us what she’s up to during the events of the Final Fantasy VII remake. Normally $19.99, a 25% discount would bring the Episode INTERmission right down to around $14.99 for the duration of this sale.
Final Fantasy VII Update on PC
So, this is a great surprise for fans of Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation. On the PC side of things, Final Fantasy VII Remake has been the subject of some of the controversy recently. The game did not only launch as an Epic Games Store exclusive – a decision that always upsets some PC player base without fail.
We get to see if the version on PC would receive some fixes for the stuttering issues that have been reported by users, but aside from that, we are also waiting for word on when the follow-up to Final Fantasy VII Remake will arrive. Final Fantasy VII Remake would only cover some part of the original final fantasy VII story, with Square Enix planning to proceed with a new game.
