Google has recently announced a suite of updates for its Pixel phone lineup, introducing a range of innovative features across various models. These updates, part of Google’s latest Pixel software drop, are set to enhance the user experience with cutting-edge technology and expanded functionality.
One of the most notable updates is the introduction of the AI-powered Circle To Search feature to the Pixel 8 series. Initially unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event for the Galaxy S24 series, this feature, developed in collaboration with Samsung, allows users to search for almost anything on their phone’s screen by simply circling it. This functionality is now available on both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

In a significant advancement for the Pixel 8 Pro, Google has added the capability to take a person’s body temperature using the phone’s built-in temperature sensor. This feature, accessible through the Thermometer app, enables users to scan a person’s forehead and obtain temperature readings, which can be saved to a Fitbit profile. This update addresses a previously noted limitation of the Pixel 8 Pro, which, at its launch in October, could only measure the temperature of food and objects.
Additionally, the update brings Photomoji to the Pixel 3A and newer models. This creative feature allows users to transform photos into stickers, enhancing interactions in messaging threads.
Another exciting addition is the Magic Compose feature, aimed at improving communication efficiency and creativity. Available on the Pixel 8 Pro in US English and on the Pixel 6 and newer models in Spanish, French, German, Korean, and Italian, Magic Compose helps users rewrite message drafts in various styles, including professional, concise, or even Shakespearean tones.

Furthermore, Google is introducing a fresh aesthetic option for its Pixel 8 and 8 Pro models, offering them in a new mint color. This exclusive color is available only through the Google Store and Google Fi Wireless, adding an extra touch of personalization for Pixel enthusiasts.
