Automobile company ford has now issued a recall of 518,993 2020-2023 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles with 3-cylander, 1.5-liter engines over a cracked fuel injector that could ultimately lead to a fire incident, the auto manufacturer on Thursday revealed.

The reported recalls directly affect 0.38% of 2020 model-year vehicles and 0.22% of 2021-2022 model-year vehicles. The company expects the fuel injectors may start to experience leaks or 150,000 miles.

What Ford Has To Say about the Recalls

“Taking care of our customers who are affected by this potential issue is our utmost priority,” Jim Azzouz, executive director of global CX products and customer relations in a press release said. “Once the repair is available, we will ask customers to schedule service with their preferred dealer.  They can then take advantage of our complimentary pickup and delivery or a loaner to make sure the repair is completed at their earliest convenience.”

Recalls Aren’t Uncommon In the Automotive Industry

Recalls are not uncommon in the automotive industry, just as you should know. And while some recalls are more serious, posing potential fire risks or other forms of danger, others are tamer and can easily be done with minor repairs or even software updates. Tesla earlier this week issued a recall over rear light issues and it is also doing a major recall in China over software and seat-belt issues.

Other Automakers to Recently Make Recalls

Stellantis, which is the parent company to Chrysler, Dodge, and Alfa Romeo, informed owners of its products earlier this month over faulty Takata airbags affecting 276,000 vehicles. GMC on the other hand recalled 735 Hummer EVs and 86 BrightDrop EV600 electric vans for improperly sealed batteries. And due to regulation and potential lawsuits, companies are usually quick to inform their customers of recalls and remedy issues quickly.

This Recall requires an Engine Software Update as Well as a Tube Installation

Ford has said that this recall will require an engine software update as well as a tube installation that will help to drain fuel from the cylinder head and away from surfaces that are hot. The company has revealed that people can continue to drive their vehicles under this recall.
