NFTs for Minecraft are not allowed, says the developer. The developer of Minecraft, Mojang, has just put his foot down when it comes to a digital token for its game.

Minecraft as you should have already known is one of the most popular games across various platforms. And the game will not be having any non-fungible tokens or NFTs as it is popularly known. In a blog post on Wednesday, developer Mojang says that it will not allow or support Minecraft NFTs.

“To ensure that Minecraft players have a safe and inclusive experience, Blockchain technologies are not permitted to be integrated inside our Minecraft client and server applications, nor may they be utilized to create NFTs associated with any in-game content, including worlds, skins, personal items or other mods,” Mojang cited.

The developer of the game has said that there have been various companies that created and developed NFTs that are related to Minecraft, but it feels that these tokens are not inclusive and also ‘create a scenario of the haves and the have-nots.’ Developer Mojang also cited various concerns in regards to instances of fraud and inflated prices of NFTs artificially.

The Video Gaming Industry Is Yet To Embrace NFTs

The video game community and industry as of yet are fully to embrace NFTs. There have however been success stories that did not last due to the current state of the crypto industry. Experts however feel like NFTs will become the new normal in gaming but only when someone finds a way to integrate and implement them.
