About Media Product Fellowship 2023

In the rapidly evolving media landscape, independent media organizations face numerous challenges in maintaining their financial stability and sustaining their editorial independence. Recognizing this need, NAMIP, in partnership with MDIF, has introduced the Media Product Fellowship to address the scarcity of specialized products and targeted business skills in the media industry.

This fellowship aims to equip media professionals with foundational-level skills required for developing successful media products and achieving financial sustainability.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria below:

  • Should be early to mid-stage media professional with an understanding of journalistic best practices
  • Applicants who desire to advance their knowledge of the news product strategy and media business are encouraged to apply
  • He/She should have a minimum of  3 years of experience working in the media space or related fields.
  • Applicants must be available to participate full-time in a three-week-long training program.
  • Applicants are required to share a 500-word essay stating an understanding of the media landscape, challenges, and the prospects
  • The essay should also contain how a new product and business mindset can strengthen independent media organizations in Nigeria.
