Early Life
John Francis Bongiovi Jr., was born on the 2nd day of March, 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Both of Jon’s parents were previously marines. His father was a barber and his mom was a playboy bunny and then later a florist. Bon Jovi is from a close-knit Italian family.

Jon made a call to his pal David Bryan in the spring of 1983 who then called his friends, bassist Alec John Such and drummer Tico Torres. And also not long after that time, guitarist Richie Sambora joined the band. The band together with Jon recorded ‘Runway’ which is their first hit song. Jon kept on trying to make radio stations in New York to play his single without any headway until a DJ decided to play the song.
Immediately, ‘runway’ became an instant hit and it landed in the top 40. Jon was signed by mercury records to a recording contract and then Bon Jovi was created. The band released their first two albums in 1984 and 1985 respectively. The band get recognized globally with the release of their third album in 1986 ‘slippery when wet’.
That very album birthed three of the bands hits; ‘wanted dead or alive’, ‘you give love a bad name’, and ‘living on a prayer’. The last two however became number one hits.
