The inclusion of USB-C in Apple’s latest smartphones this year, thanks to the European Union, indicates a growing genuine interest among people considering a shift to Apple.

I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max for almost a month now, and I have some thoughts (the same applies to the smaller 15 Pro model as well).

Embracing Change, Whether it’s Small or Intangible, is a Positive Thing

A notable feature in this year’s iPhone lineup is the utilization of titanium for the outer ‘frame’ of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Unlike last year’s Pro models with steel frames, which added reassuring weight but also made them somewhat heavy, the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max feels noticeably lighter – nine and eight percent lighter than their counterparts from last year, respectively.

Though the numbers might not suggest a substantial shift, the difference is more palpable in person. The weight reduction is so noticeable that even the 15 Pro Max has become a feasible choice for individuals who previously favored the smaller ‘Pro’ models, including myself.

Furthermore, Apple adjusted the feel of the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) to sit more comfortably in the hand. This improvement is achieved through rounded edges that won’t dig into your palm or pinky finger during extended use. While it may seem like a modest enhancement, it’s undeniably a welcome change, particularly for those who enjoy living on the edge and using their phones without a case.

I went case-free with this phone for a while, and using an iPhone without any cover was truly enjoyable for the first time in my life. Similar to previous iPhone models, the frosted glass back effectively conceals fingerprints and smudges.

The standout feature this year is the titanium frame, which, while still susceptible to smudges and fingerprints, shows them with significantly reduced visibility. If you opt for darker-colored models, such as Black Titanium and Blue Titanium, expect somewhat more noticeable smudges. Nevertheless, they are far less conspicuous than on last year’s models.
