Social media platform Instagram for several hours on Wednesday evening was inaccessible for thousands of users according to Downdetector, an outage tracker.

Over 44,000 users of the meta-owned photo-sharing social networking platform reported experiencing problems with getting access to the platform in the United States starting around 5:30 pm PT according to information gathered by Downdetector. Users in many other parts of the world such as Japan, Spain, and Australia among many other countries also reported not being able to get access to the website.

Users Were Met With a “Sorry, This Page Isn’t Available” Message on Trying To Access the Site

Any attempt to get access to the site on Wednesday evening presented a message that states, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”

Meta’s Reaction to the News

Representatives of Meta did not respond immediately to a request for comment, but however, a tweet at 9 pm PT on the Instagram comms account stated that the outage has been solved and in the process blaming the situation on a technical issue that has not been identified as of the time of this writing.
