The ICIPE PhD Scholarship Program 2023 is inviting Applications from eligible African Students! The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), targets sustainable development, using human health as the foundation for development, and the environment as the foundation for sustainability.

The ICIPE PhD Scholarship 2023 is offered with the intention of adding towards the improvement of the overall well-being of communities in tropical Africa by addressing the interlinked problems of poverty, health issues, and low agricultural productivity.

To achieve this, the center works through a holistic and integrated approach known as the 4H paradigm, they include Human Health, Animal Health, Plant Health, and Environmental Health.

About ICIPE Ph.D. Scholarships

ICIPE, in partnership with DAAD and African university partners, has announced the application call for the ICIPE PhD Scholarship Program 2023.

We earlier mentioned that the research will focus on 4 health themes (Human, Animal, Plant, and Environment Health). The Fellowship will consist of varieties of science disciplines to achieve impact.

Through this program, young African Researchers residing in Africa will get to compete in internationally competitive research and development environments within national, regional, and international research programs.

Eligibility Criteria for ICIPE PhD Scholarships Qualification

  • Interested citizen of a country in sub-Saharan Africa can apply
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum pass of second-class, upper division.
  • The Candidate’s Master’s degree must have been completed less than six years ago at the time of application.
  • Please note that more specific skills requirements may be required depending on the PhD project(s) selected by the candidate.
  • Applicant should have sound working knowledge of English (written & spoken).
  • Demonstrates motivation and strong commitment.
  • Candidates should complete the application form and accompanying supporting documents.
  • Special preference will be given to female candidates and candidates from less privileged regions or groups as well as candidates with disabilities.
  • Eligible Citizens of French- and Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa are also encouraged to apply.
