A seller rating on the Facebook marketplace is just a piece of an infographic that shows the businesses that offer quality products and services. This means that the higher your seller rating on an eCommerce platform, the more businesses you are poised to get.

Unfortunately, you cannot rate yourself on Facebook, but you can only be rated by buyers of your products. And this is more reason why you should be legit in handling your business on the platform

There are two ways of getting a rating on the Facebook marketplace. The first way or means of getting a rating on Facebook is after you (the seller) have marked an item on the platforms as sold and select the buyer.

The buyer will then receive a notification to rate the seller. The second means is where the buyer can rate a seller on messenger. After purchasing a product on the Facebook marketplace or had a conversation with a seller, you will see the rate seller option.

Steps to Rate A Seller on the Facebook Marketplace

To rate a seller on the Facebook marketplace, follow the steps below;

  • Open the Facebook messenger app. If you do not have the app on your device, you will first have to download and install it first.
  • Next, tap the search tab at the top of the app.
  • You will then have to search for a person, a text, or a phone number
  • Tap the person in order to open the conversation
  • Next, tap the rate seller option

You will then be required to select a star rating of number 1-5. You will also be required to select reasons for your rating and also share more details in regards to your experience with the seller or buyer. The star ratings on the Facebook marketplace mean;

  • 1: very poor
  • 2: poor
  • 3: fair
  • 4: good
  • 5: excellent

That’s it.
