Elon Musk contemplates stepping down as Twitter CEO. Ever since the tech billionaire took the helm at social media company Twitter, things really have been a tad bit chaotic. The new CEO of Twitter recently conducted a poll on the platform on whether he should step down as CEO of the company.

On Sunday, Elon Musk launched a Twitter poll asking users to cast their vote on whether he should step down as the chief executive of the social media platform.

“Should I step down as the head of Twitter?” he stated in the polls question, and he also added that he would “abide by the results.”

And as of this writing and based on 2.8 million votes, the YES votes have a 15% edge over the NO votes. The poll however is timed to expire around 3 a.m. PT Monday.

Musk also followed up the poll in question with a note promising users on the platform that in the future, there would be a vote for all of the significant policy changes at the social media firm.

Does Elon Musk Have a Replacement in Mind?

It was not apparent immediately whether musk already has a replacement in mind should in the vent that he is voted out. And twitter which at the moment no longer has a communications department did not respond immediately to a request for comment on the matter.

Social media firm Twitter has been rather chaotic since its acquisition by Elon Musk back on October 27. About half the company’s staff was laid off just days after the tech guru took over and the site also for a short while launched a new blue check verification service only for it to be plagued with trolls and fake verified accounts.

Twitter Suspended Various Journalists from the Platform on Thursday

The social networking platform on Thursday suspended various journalists, including journalists from The New York Times, CNN, and The Washington Post claiming that all violated its rules. Twitter a day earlier suspended more than two dozen accounts on the platform that made use of publicly available flight information to track the location of private jets and this is including the plane that Elon Musk himself uses.

Elon Musk Set To Reinstate Suspended Twitter Accounts

Elon musk on Friday tweeted that accounts that have been suspended in relation to this dispute in question with the account that tracked his jet would have their suspensions lifted based on a public poll he had conducted on Twitter. He also conducted polls on whether he should sell Telsa stock and also asked users if he should bring the canceled short-video service Vine back to the platform.
