Do You Know You Can be a Super Achiever if You Read 1.5 Books In A Month? People don‘t read as much as they used to. That’s not very good, of course, but it does help you stand out and get ahead by simply reading a few more books than the average person.

The latest Gallup report on the state of reading states that Americans read an average of 12 books a year, back then in 1990, a smaller number was recorded.

Although the rate of reading books “appears to be in decline,” according to Gallup, this decline does not show among a certain class of people, the super-achievers consisting of entrepreneurs and business leaders, many of whom read anywhere from 11 to 50 books a year.

This simply means that if you simply read one-and-a-half books every month, you’ll be far ahead of not just your peers, but the normal everyday person and you will join a super-elite club of top leaders.

Good readers or super-achievers normally have a certain standard for reading: They’re selective and active.

Be a Selective Reader

Although you can choose to randomly stumble upon any book from time to time, if you are an entrepreneur, you will only have a little time for reading, therefore you will have to focus on a few selected books.

Don‘t just read anything, be inquisitive, ask people in your field the types of books they read. Listen to messages, podcasts, or read blogs by leaders you admire. Always read books that complement your career or passion.

Be an Active Reader

As entrepreneurs that need fast growth, anything we spend our time doing is supposed to be worth it. You cannot be reading a book that should change your life and not incorporate the lessons of the book in your life.

Make sure you get the most out of every book you read. Do the following:

Make sure that what you are reading really does something to you. At the end of reading each book, there is an expectation for the outcome of every reader. Let this outcome apply to you.

Being an active reader also entails sharing the book or your knowledge with your team members and then using ideas you have gotten from the book to elevate the team’s success.

The bottom line is that readers are leaders. Take advantage of the knowledge hidden in books.
