Death Stranding is Coming to PC Game Pass
Despite it being originally published by Sony, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding heads for Microsoft’s subscription service on the 23rd of August. Just as announced by Xbox Wire, this is expected to include three new gold and silver cosmetic items that would unlock as you keep on playing, alongside a ‘Chiral Gold / Omnireflector “Ludens Mask” Sunglasses (color Variant)’.
However, this version of death stranding might not be what you were expecting. As confirmed by the press release, PC Game Pass subscribers are getting the original edition of death stranding, not the expanded Director’s cut that came to PlayStation 5 and PC.
While there seems to be no explanation for this, we would speculate that there is no potential licensing agreements at play along with Sony and Kojima productions. So, anyone playing via PC game pass will out on new combat abilities, items, and other small changes, but death stranding remains a hefty game.

Not the PC Strategy Sony had Planned
The death stranding available on PC is definitely a surprise for PC games, although if you ponder on the thought of why a Sony-published game landed on Microsoft subscription service, this article would provide the answer you need. While Sony Decided to expand its PC output, one of the most recent which is Marvel’s Spider-man remastered, it never published death stranding’s PC port, which was handled by 505 Games.
Because of that, do not expect this to arrive on the Xbox Game Pass. While the Xbox Game Pass ultimate bundles in PC Game Pass, 505’s publishing rights only cover both the PC versions, taking Xbox One and Xbox series X/S appearance. Furthermore, both the death stranding and death stranding: director’s cut were added to the revamped PS Plus in June, which is available for Extra and premium tier subscribers.

Xbox Game Pass This Month
Unfortunately, this is not all amazing news for the Xbox Game Pass this month. Having arrived on the service about a year ago, subscribers happen to lose one of the best rogue like games on the 30th of August, Hades along with nine other games. Still, it is not like game pass subscribers have been left wanting. Even without the game Death Stranding, August still has a ton or more games in the Pass.
