The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship is a prestigious program that aims to nurture and develop the next generation of cultural leaders. For over 16 years, the program has been instrumental in shaping the careers of exceptional individuals who are passionate about driving positive change in the arts and culture sector.

About Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship

The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship is a gathering of the most innovative cultural leaders in the UK and throughout the world. The program is designed as an intense personal and professional learning experience for participants. The  Fellowship uses in-depth instruction designed for participant’s needs, goals, and situations.

The fellowship, which has a fluid framework intended to support the growth of extraordinary cultural leaders at a critical juncture in their careers, will run from September 2024 to May 2025. You must have a strong sense of motivation and a keen curiosity because it is adaptive and self-guided.

Program Structure

The fellowship runs from September 2024 to May 2025 and is designed to provide fellows with a unique learning experience. The program includes:

  • Residential Leadership Courses: Two residential leadership courses in September 2024 and May 2025, where fellows will engage in intensive training and networking opportunities with like-minded peers and industry experts.
  • Skills-Based Workshops: Three day-long non-residential skills-based workshops, focusing on essential leadership competencies such as communication, strategic thinking, and project management.
  • Online Climate Assembly: A one-day ‘Online Climate Assembly’ aimed at fostering discussions and collaborations around environmental sustainability in the cultural sector.
  • Individual Development: A 360° leadership profile assessment to gain valuable insights into your strengths and areas for growth.
  • A secondment in a UK-based cultural organization, providing hands-on experience and exposure to different perspectives and practices within the sector.
  • Learning platforms through conferences, courses, study visits, and peer networking.
  • Focused support from a mentor or coach to provide guidance and mentorship throughout your fellowship journey.
  • Thought leadership exploration through the development of a written provocation paper on a topic of interest within the cultural sector.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship, applicants must:

  • Intend to return to their home country upon completion of the fellowship.
  • Hold a degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honors degree or have equivalent professional training and/or experience.
  • Posses at least five (5) years of work experience by the end of 2023.
  • Meet the minimum requirements outlined in the main fellowships scheme.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of English.
  • Applicants must not hold British or dual British citizenship.
  • Not be employed or have close relatives employed by certain UK government entities or affiliated organizations.
  • Applicants from Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, and South Africa are encouraged to apply.
