I would not be surprised with the huge search for the best podcasts of all time. This is because podcasts have now been popularly known and loved by many. We love nothing more than plugging into one of our favorite podcasts as we go about our day.
We listen to them while we cook, work or walk around the park; while having a bath or running errands in the car. And during strange times like this, podcasts have been the perfect way to escape, expand our minds, and – in many cases – have a good giggle. If you haven’t already joined the wonderful world of podcasts then you are missing a great lot.

Now, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.

- Criminal; this podcast by Phoebe Judge Podcast Summary in the words of the producers, Criminal covers “stories of people who’ve done wrong, been wronged, or gotten caught somewhere in the middle.” Some of my favorite episodes are Melinda and Judy, Money Tree, Mother’s Little Helper, and Break the Internet.
- Hardcore History; hosted by Dan Carlin Podcast Summary Hardcore History is a (very) long-form podcast that tells famous historical stories in a captivating way. Carlin’s enthusiasm for history shines through in each episode and he typically attacks topics in a series format. For example, his incredible series on Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire was six episodes and more than 9 hours in total. It’s worth the time investment.
- Woman’s Hour; the insightful discussions on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, hosted by Jane Garvey and Emma Barnett (formerly Jenni Murray), are available to download in podcast form. From climate change to parenting and Brexit to menopause, this podcast covers it all, with fascinating inputs from experts and journalists.
- Comedy Podcasts; radio favorites and close friends Fi Glover and Jane Garvey go behind the scenes in TV and radio, interviewing guests from across the industry like Richard Madeley and Emma Barnett. Expect jokes, hilariously relatable observations about everyday life, and self-deprecation galore.
