If in the future you go to any of the AMC theaters to see a movie, you could end up paying more that is if you want the good seats. On Monday, the company announced a new program that will set ticket prices in a theater based on the location of seats.

According to the announcement, there will be three pricing options and tiers in the Sightline at AMC program. Front row and selected ADA seats which is known as Value Sightline will be cheaper in contrast to other tickets. Seats in the middle of the theater on the other hand which is under the category of preferred Sightline will eventually cost more than other seats in the theater. Other seats however which are known as Standard Sightline will not be getting price changes.

AMC Stubs A-List members however will be able to reserve seats in the Preferred Sightline tier and plan at no additional cost.

AMC Theaters Announcement in Regards to the Development

“While every seat at AMC delivers an amazing moviegoing experience, we know there are some moviegoers who prioritize their specific seat and others who prioritize value moviegoing,” executive vice president and chief marketing officer of AMC Theaters Eliot Hamlisch in a news release said.

The Program Will Start On Friday at Selected AMC Theaters

The program will be kicking off on Friday at selected AMC theaters in Chicago, New York, and Kansas City. AMC however expects to roll out the new pricing options and tiers nationwide to its theaters by the end of the year.

Other Important Pieces of Info during the Announcement

The company also said that Sightline at AMC theaters will be providing maps of its auditoriums and showing just how much each seat costs. AMC said that the program will be applicable to all movies shown after 4. Pm., but it however isn’t applicable on Discount Tuesdays when all the tickets are $5.
