All thanks to a new partnership between AMC theaters and Walmart, you no longer need to visit a movie theater in order to buy movie theater popcorn. The movie theater company is now launching a line known as AMC Perfectly Popcorn with options for microwaveable and ready-to-eat popcorn.
This line of popcorn will be available at Walmart stores on March 11 which is a day before the 2023 Oscars. Shoppers will now be able to get that “movie theater popcorn taste and aroma” without having to go to the movie theater, AMC in a release on Tuesday said.
The Price of AMC’s Popcorn
The ready-to-eat popcorn as you should know will retail for $4 and the microwaveable variety on the other hand for $5. The available flavors include classic butter, extra butter, and lightly salted. And if you still miss the feeling of adding extra butter into your jumbo bag of popcorn at theaters, then the microwaveable Perfectly Popcorn extra butter comes with buttery topping packets which you will find really lovely.
The move by AMC to retail reflects the determination of the movie theater industry to stay relevant in a time and age that is dominated by streaming. Theater chains also are exploring options such as more immersive experiences, giant displays as well as luxe auditoriums in a bid to win customers over.
Date and Streaming for the 95th Oscars
