Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the AU-YVC 2024, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of an AU Member State, either living on the continent or in the Diaspora.
  • Age Range: The age requirement is between 18 and 35 years. Applicants should be under the age of 35 upon completing the 12-month service period.
  • Educational Qualifications: Applicants should hold post-secondary certified qualifications such as TVET, Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.
  • Availability: Applicants must be available in 2023/24 to dedicate a full year for professional volunteer service.
  • Geographical Flexibility: Participants should be willing to live and work in an AU Member State other than their home country.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Swahili, Spanish) is required.
  • Experience: Applicants should possess at least one year of verifiable volunteering experience and one year of professional work experience.
