There may be no general WIC app or any official application powered by the program but there are several apps created by some of the states in the country to aid the effective running of the program in their terrain. States like California, Georgia, and Florida have mobile supported application for WIC.
These apps make it easy for the participants of the program to track their records, transactions, and benefits from the program. One can manage food benefits better if you can keep track of it and also be alerted on the next scheduled payments for benefits.
The WIC apps also make it easy for participants to make use of their benefits without having to use their WIC cards. One can now shop for groceries online without having to go to the actual stores to make these purchases. Now you can make a purchase on the go!

This eligibility can only be acquired when you apply for the benefits and meet up with all the requirements of the program. Yes, there are some requirements set down that every applicant for the benefits of the program must meet up with first.
There are four eligibility requirements an applicant must meet and they are;
- Income: Applicants’ gross income could be less or equal but must not exceed a certain amount set by the program. The program as of 2020 uses a gross income limit of 185% of the federal poverty guideline. The income is calculated per the size of the family of the applicant.
- Nutrition Risk: a nutrition assessment must be conducted by the applicant to show that he or she is a nutritional risk. This assessment result would only be accepted by the program if the assessment is done by a qualified health professional which could be a nurse, physician, or a nutritionist.
- Category: all applicants must fall within one of the three categories of participants grouped by the state. The categories are women (pregnant. Breastfeeding and postpartum up to six months after childbirth), infants, and children. Any applicant out this category is not eligible.
- Residence: an applicant must apply in his or her current state of residence. This simply means applicants must be a resident of the state to which they are applying for assistance. You cannot reside in Florida and apply for benefits in California.
Meet up with these requirements grants you eligibility for the benefits of the program. However, automatic eligibility is available to applicants if the applicant or a relative is participating in a similar assistance program.
