David Harbour who plays the role of Jim Hopper in the TV show, suggests that filming would start “next year” once the duffer brothers have planned out the scripts. As long as they are not faced with any issues during its production, we should be expecting Stranger things in 2024.
However, in a conversation with collider, the duffer brothers were coy about when we would see the show’s fifth season air on Netflix. “It depends on who you ask,” Matt Suffer Stated. “that is what we are still trying to find out. if you question our AD [Assistant Director] and our line producer, they would want more for production. Our Post Production supervisor wants more time for post-production. So this would be a really big discussion. How long Does everybody get?
“Here is the thing, the more production gets shortened, the more you shorten post-production, the more things would get compromised. Ross and I would always favor quality, I think. At the end of the day, it is better to get a great show than it coming out quickly.”
Sadie Sink, who plays the role of Max Mayfield, has suggested that it might actually take a whole before things actually return to our screens. Talking to Deadline, she stated: “It takes a while to get everything ready to go for a new season because once we start filming, we do not stop. This last season took two years in total, so who knows how long season five will take. The Duffers definitely know the fans will be eagerly awaiting the fifth season, but I don’t think they’re gonna rush it. They wanna make the best final season that they could possibly make.”

This is because of her fatal encounter with vecna in the season 4 finale, Max is in a medically induced coma in Hawkins Hospital. Plus eleven tried to find her in the void but met no one. So at the moment, we have nothing.
It seems possible that we might see some supporting characters featured in Stranger Things Season 5. they include Karen Wheeler (Cara Buono), Ted Wheeler (Joe Chrest), Lieutenant Colonel Jack Sullivan (Sherman Augustus), Vickie (Amybeth McNulty), and Suzie (Gabriella Pizzolo). We could all see all these characters including Dmitri Antonov (Tom Wlaschiha) and Yuri Ismaylov (Nikola Duricko).

At the moment, there are very few details to go on for the stranger things season 5’s Story. In their respective chat with GQ and Deadline, David Harbour and Sadie Sink have talked about the fact that they do not know how the final season would be playing out. and this is not a surprise as it seems like the Duffer brothers are still ironing out the scripts and sink saying that the duo has been “Very Secretive” about season 5 in general.
