The actor is best known for his role as Chachi Arcola on the sitcom titled ‘happy days’ and also on its spin-off titled ‘Joanie Loves Chachi’ and also for playing the title character on the sitcom titled ‘Charles in charge’.
Early Life
Scott Vincent Baio was born on the 22nd day of September 1960, in New York. He is the third child of Mario and Rose Baio. His parents were immigrants from Italy and the actor grew up as a first-generation American. At a very young age, Scott was growing to become a street bully and an unruly child. With that being said, his concerned parents then had to look for other ways to channel his energy and therefore sent him to auditions.
Career
Baio got his much-needed big break back in 1967 when he was selected to play the title character and role in the cult youthful gangster musical titled Bugsy Malone’ which was then directed by Alan Parker. He starred in a television movie in 1980 titled ‘the boy who drank too much’. The movie was based on a novel by Shep Greene. The movie is all about a high school hockey player who struggled with alcoholism.
The actor then starred as Charles in the syndicated comedy series titled ‘Charles in charge’. He played as a student who also works as a babysitter in order to make a living. The series ran on the air from 1984 to 1990. He decided to take a break from his comedic roles and then portrayed Dr. Jack Stewart in the medical mystery series titled ‘Diagnosis: murder’. The series ran from 1992 to 1995.
He continued to play himself in the horror-comedy movie in 2005 titled ‘cursed’. The movie had many names in its cast, but it however bombed and fell through at the box office. However, the actor then appeared in the VH1 celebrity reality series titled ‘Scott Baio is 45…and single’ in 2007, and then its successor, ‘Scott Baio is 46…and pregnant’ the following year.
