Roblox is coming to the PlayStation finally. With this new development, it now means that the hit social app will be available on Sony consoles very soon, and fans really cannot be happy enough.
Roblox Is Coming to the PlayStation
Finally, Roblox will be available on PlayStation very soon. Roblox at its 2023 Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) on Friday made the announcement that its famous and popular social and gaming app will be coming to the PS4 and PS5 in October.
Roblox, which as you should know is free to download, is already out on a host of platforms out there, and this is including PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Xbox, but the lack of support for Sony’s consoles has kind of felt like a notable hole in lineup of Roblox. There have however been some clues that a PlayStation version has been in the works for some time, though a 2022 job listing revealed that Roblox was hiring for a PlayStation engineer, and CEO David Baszucki also hinted on an August earnings call that the firm has been looking at bringing the app to the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch consoles.
PlayStation Players Will Now Be Able To Access the Full Catalog of Roblox Experiences
Roblox however promises that PlayStation players will now be able to access “the full catalog of Roblox experiences,” so it really sounds like you will now be able to log in to your account and then jump right into your favorite experiences once the app is finally available on PS4 and PS5.
Roblox Switch Launch
I recently asked the company about a potential Switch launch. “We want Roblox to be on all devices, anywhere around the world. At this time, we currently have no imminent plans to have Roblox available on the Nintendo Switch,” spokesperson Roman Skuratovskiy in a statement stated. However, Baszucki while onstage at RDC heavily teased that Roblox will be expanding to many more places: “stay tuned, because there are more platforms to come.”
The Meta Quest Roblox App Availability
The company in question also shared that the Meta Quest Roblox app on the other hand will be “widely available” in the later parts of September. Roblox also released an open beta of the Quest app back in July, and it got more than a million installs in the very first five days following that very launch. There are also reported upgrades that are coming to the Xbox app, and this is including an improved user experience as well as the promise of frequent updates.
