It has been reported that a senior vice president from Sony who worked on the PlayStation department has been fired from his role after being involved in an amateur pedophilia sting video.

The fired executive, George Cacioppo was allegedly putting up a meeting with a person who claims to be 15 years old according to a video that was posted on the 3rd of December by a YouTube channel called People v. Preds. The fired vice president has been on the position of senior vice president of engineering at the company for the last eight years and this is according to his LinkedIn profile. And after allegedly appearing in the video he was sacked.

What Sony Had To Say

In an emailed statement by Sony on Sunday, the company said that “we are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment.” However, when asked for a comment regarding the matter via his LinkedIn account, Cacioppo did not respond to requests for comment regarding the matter.

The Contents of the Video

The content of the video features a cameraman walking down a street at night time in the direction of a house. Also, a person who appeared to be Cacioppo wearing a PS5 shirt was seen in the video standing outside a house. The cameraman in question then speaks to him (Cacioppo) referring to him as “Jeff.”

And as the cameraman begins to ask more questions, Cacioppo walks back into the house and closes the door behind and in the process refusing to answer any of the questions thrown at him. The cameraman however proceeds to start yelling at him saying he would call the police.

According to a Google drive link that is posted in the video’s description posted on YouTube, the sacked sony executive allegedly spoke with a person who claims to be 15-year-old on Grindr, a social networking app for gay, bi, queer people, and trans.

Alleged Evidence of Cacioppo’s Involvement in the Matter

The two however continued to exchange pictures and also made sexual discussions according to screenshots of the conversation. Cacioppo also allegedly referred to himself as “Jeff” to the decoy and also provided his address. The decoy also told him he would take an Uber to his location where Capcioppo was allegedly waiting outside.

The YouTube channel, People v. Preds confirmed that the information gathered was sent to the San Diego County district attorney’s office. On request for a comment, the DA’s office did not respond immediately.
