Pixel Phones Can Record and Upload Videos in an Emergency Automatically
One very interesting app on the Google pixel android phone is the personal safety app. The Google Pixel phone has added features to its devices over the years like the safety check-in feature that notifies your emergency contacts automatically in the case that you don’t reply to the schedule. It also has the ability to dial 911 if it detects that you have been involved in a car accident. XDA-Developers and Android Police have now reported that there is a new feature that automatically records videos if you activate the built-in emergency SOS.
Once installed and updated from the Google play store on a pixel device, it informed users that it can record continuously for 45 minutes once it has been activated that is if your device has enough storage. Also if you have your internet connection turned on, the video will be automatically backed up to your Google account. And there it will be stored for seven days and if you tell the app to share automatically, the link of the video will be sent to your emergency contacts.
How To Locate The Feature On A Pixel Phone
If you own a Pixel device, you can find the feature in the personal safety app’s settings.to activate the emergency SOS feature, you will have to press the power button five times. And while the feature is active your phone will still be available to you for use with a minimized viewfinder and notification icon that indicates a recording is taking place.
Depending on your settings, there are a host of other things the SOS can also do. Including calling 911, the SOS can choose to play or not play an alarm sound when activated, or even share information with the emergency contacts you selected. Google has earlier tested a version of emergency SOS in early betas for android 12. So if you have another device asides from the pixel line, unfortunately, you cannot access the feature as it is only available for the pixel line.
