Pixel Fold Launch Has Been Delayed Once Again by Google. We have been hearing conflicting reports concerning Google’s upcoming foldable phone that the pixel fold has for a really long time.
It was suspected to have been canceled, but the Google Pixel came back into the news just some weeks ago after a report that came from a usually trustworthy source that indicated that Google has restarted work on the project.
Pixel Fold Launch Has Been Delayed Once Again by Google
And according to that report, Google has restarted work on the project. According to that report, Google was on track to launch the pixel Fold by the last quarter of 2022.
And just when you thought nothing actually could go wrong again, in a fresh twist to the tale, Korean publication the Elec stated in a report that Google would be postponing the launch of the pixel fold. And this time around, no specific timeframe was attached to the delay. What this essentially means is that we should only be expecting the Pixel fold to be announced officially sometime in 2023.
As Google keeps on remaining tight-lipped concerning the future of the pixel fold, the Elec claims that its newest day is a result of Google not being entirely happy with the first batch of pixel fold prototypes.
Why the Delay
Even though we know Google teased its upcoming products in advance at Google I/O, the company has not done anything similar for the pixel fold. This is actually the first indication that the pixel fold was still in an early stage of development and that a late 2022 launch might be asking for too much.
And as stated by Elec, the Primary reason for this delay is that Google executives that have access to early prototypes of the pixel fold felt that the product is yet to be completed and that the product is not ready yet for primetime.
SlashGear recently reported the possibility of the Pixel Fold sharing a lot of its traits with the Samsung upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4. Let’s take, for example, the fold has been rumored to have a large 5.8-inch secondary cover display akin to the one on the Galaxy Z fold series existing at the moment. The only difference here is that the two of them seemed to e the sizes. At 6.19 inches, the secondary cover display on the rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is likely to get considered to be bigger in size.
Speculations on the launch
Also, there were some speculations that Google would be launching the pixel fold right after Google announced the Android 13, a revamped Android variant that would have optimizations for various form factors, notably including foldable smartphones. At any rate, it seems to be the pixel fold, a few slight tweaks, or a complete end to the development of the machine.
