LSI SEO – What is Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) | How to Create/Find LSI Keywords

In this article, we would be looking at LSI SEO. What is the meaning of LSI? LSI simply means latent semantic indexing. On the other hand, SEO means search engine optimization. The term SEO is often hard to understand for some people. In my own definitions, SEO is making known specific keywords on your website known to search engines. This tells the search engine where and what to rank your content for. When this is done properly and a search is made about that keyword on a search engine, your site would be displayed on top.

Knowing how to use LSI in your Seo all depends on the right knowledge. This is the reason I urge you to take this content seriously if you want your articles to rank on top. Although search engines rank pages based on different factors, latent semantic indexing can play a major role. Explaining SEO, it is way major search engines like Google and Bing discover how your content and keyword work together. This is based on a series of mathematical equations.

Understanding LSI

Understanding LSI does not require a degree of any sort. It is something everyone who has been searching the web is familiar with. If you know about LSI before now, a lot of people often take this term to be just synonyms of your keywords. This is not true; it is a lot more complicated than that. You should also know that search engines are smart to the extent that they can identify both the context of your content and synonyms related to your focus keyphrase.

What is Latent Semantic Indexing

Having said LSI is not basically synonyms, I think I owe you an explanation. LSI is words that share the same context and are frequently found together. For instance, take the word, “baked apple” “apple nutrition” and “red apple” they are not synonyms but are LSI keywords. When a search engine indexes your page, they would know that your age is most likely about the apple fruit. Another example of LSI keywords is “Google,” “Google News,” “Google Search,” “Google Apps,”.

Why was LSI introduced to Search Engines?

In the past, search engines used an accountability mentality. This mentality was keyword density. This means that they initially used then a number of times a keyword was mentioned to rank the content. This gave birth to keyword stuffing of publishers. What is keyword stuffing? Keyword stuffing is when you add your keyword to your content too many times. Keyword stuffing is actually adding words to your post without any substantial value.
