Jami Beth Gertz was born on the 28th day of October 1965 in Chicago Illinois and lived in the nearby suburb of Glenview in the city. She is born to Sharyn and Walter Gertz who is a contractor and a builder and she also has two brothers named Michael and Scott. Gertz is of Jewish heritage and was raised in Conservative Judaism. She however graduated from Maine east high school.
Career
In 1981, Gertz made her first movie appearance in the film ‘Endless Love’, which was then accompanied by a co-starring role in the 1982–83 TV sitcom series titled Square Pegs.
She got more significant attention with a starring role in the 1987 movie ‘Less Than Zero’, as the friend of a doomed drug addict played by Robert Downey Jr.. She also appeared and starred in the 1987 film titled ‘The Lost Boys as Star’, the “half-vampire” girlfriend, with Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric.
In 2000, she took up a recurring role on the Fox hit ‘Ally McBeal’ as Kimmy Bishop, John Cage’s love interest. Gertz was however nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She however returned to this role in one more episode as a guest star in the final season of the show in 2002.
