This means that you can choose to show your email address on your profile but at the same time set its privacy to only friends. With that, your email address is shared on your profile and other places on the social media platform with your friends.
Steps To Adjust Who Sees Your Email Address on Your Profile
To adjust the people you share your email address with and decide if it is shown on your profile, follow the steps below;
Computer
- Login to your Facebook account and click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook
- Next, click the about button at the top right of your Facebook profile
- Click the contact and basic info button in the left menu
- Lastly, click the edit tab next to your email address and click on the audience selector that is situated next to your email address to change the audience it’s shared with and save any changes
Android App
- Open the Facebook mobile app and make sure you are logged into your account
- Tap the hamburger icon in the top right corner of Facebook and tap on your name
- Next, tap see your about info and scroll down to contact info. Tap the edit tab
- Next, tap manage contact info and select the email address you would like to update
- Just below who can see this email address?, tap the drop-down menu icon and select a new audience
iPhone App
- Open the Facebook app for iOS and make sure you are logged into your account
- Next, tap the hamburger icon in the bottom right corner of your Facebook account and tap your name
- Tap see your about info button, scroll down to the contact info section and tap the edit button
- Tap the manage contact info tab and then select the email address you would love to update
- And below the who can see this email address? section, tap the drop-down menu and select new audience.
