Fuji cameras are well known as one of the best mirrorless cameras if not the best in the business, but various rumors coming in recently suggest that the company might just be ready to finally fix one of the biggest weaknesses of their product which is the Fujifilm smartphone app.

As per reliable Fuji rumors, a trusted source has reported that ‘Fujifilm is working on a new camera remote app.’ The rumor is coming at just the right time as the existing smartphone app scores an average of 1.7 stars and 1.4 stars on the Google play store and the apple app store respectively.

Complaints Surrounding Fuji Mirrorless Cameras

The major complaints in regards to the smartphone app of Fuji that allow users to seamlessly transfer images to their phones and also remotely control their mirrorless cameras are slow performance limited image format support and unreliable connectivity. Some of the reviews of the app have been so bad. The smartphone app is one of the weakest links of Fuji’s great cameras.

The news however is coming with a note of caution from Fuji rumors. Previously, the tech company (Fuji) released big overhauls of its smartphone app and it did so most notably in 2019 where it did so little in improving the overall experience and in the process kind of made it worse.

Why Customers Should Be Excited

One thing users are optimistic about is that the fact that Fuji is rumored to be working on a completely new companion app rather than just an update is quite welcoming and promising for those people that have been frustrated with the inconveniences of the present app. Fujifilm also could make use of the opportunity to introduce great new features such as the ability to transfer raw files to your phone wirelessly.

In regards to the release date for the app, there is no news. But the company, however, does have an X summit that is planned for September. With that being said, fans of Fuji will be hoping to hear some official news.
