The truth is there are tons of international and local scholarship opportunities for people with disabilities including people with epilepsy. And in this post, I will be sharing with you some of the various scholarship opportunities available to people with epilepsy.

Nationwide Epilepsy Scholarship Programs

Before I delve further into this post, it is important that you know that there are lots of scholarship opportunities for you. For example, there are nationwide scholarship programs and opportunities such as:

American Association on Health and Disability Scholarship

The Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on health and disability is awarded to college students who are deserving of the award annually with a disability who are in pursuit of undergraduate/graduate studies in relation to disability and health. Go here to apply for this scholarship.

FACES (finding a cure for epilepsy and seizures)

The FACES program which is a program of NYU Langone Health provides financial support partially for the educational purposes of incoming freshmen students or those college students enrolled currently that are affected by seizure and epilepsy. Go here to apply for this scholarship.

Patient Advocate Foundation

This program also known as the “scholarship for survivors” program is awarded in honoring individuals by offering educational support and scholarships to persons who have suffered or are still suffering a life-threatening disease or serious medical condition. Go here to apply for this scholarship.

UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program

This very educational program offers educational support and scholarship to people, family members, and caregivers of epileptic patients to help them fulfill their careers and dreams. To apply to this program go here.

UCB Epilepsy Scholarship 2022

UCB in 2022 will award 30 scholarships in a total of up to $5,000 and a total of three scholarships of up to $10,000 to epileptic patients, their family members, and caregivers looking to further their higher education

Thirty candidates who exhibit scholastic and individual accomplishments will get grants of up to $5,000 each. Two candidates will get Epilepsy Leader Scholarships of up to $10,000 each regarding the late Sandra Helmers, MD, MPH, and the late John M. Elam Baer & Janis Clay Educational Scholarship

Erika Knode Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is named after Erika Knode, a girl who dies back in 2014 due to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). She was a 2004 graduate of Clark high school in San Antonio. The scholarship is funded and awarded by the Erika epilepsy awareness memorial foundation and the epilepsy foundation central and south Texas respectively.

Ira Rosenzwog Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is awarded by the epilepsy foundation Maryland. The scholarship program was created in assisting students who are in college and others who have epilepsy in furthering their education. The Jim Davies Scholarship
