Chick-Fil-A Begins Its Chickenless Sales

Already, Chick-fil-A has started to sell a new chickenless sandwich at most of its locations. The new menu item is known as the Chick-fil-A Cauliflower Sandwich, and just as the name suggests, it is made up of cauliflower fillet instead of the normal chicken.

“It’s seasoned with the same familiar flavors and pressure cooked like the chicken sandwich to give it that special Chick-fil-A taste guests have come to know and love,” Chick-fil-A’s principal culinary developer, Stuart Tracy in a statement said.

The First Version of the Cauliflower Sandwich Was Made Back In 2018

Tracy said that he created the very first version of the cauliflower sandwich back in 2018 after the research made by the restaurant showed customers wanted to include more vegetables in their diets.

“Our culinary team brainstormed and explored everything,” he added. “We kept coming back to the cauliflower filet.”

This Might Not Be the Sandwich for Vegans

This as you should know might not be the sandwich for people that are looking for a vegan or vegetarian option though. Chich-fil-A said that eggs and milk are used in preparing the new sandwich, and Chick-fil-A does not designate vegetarian-only preparation surfaces at its restaurants.

The new cauliflower sandwich is available in Denver, Charleston, South Carolina, and the Greensboro-Traid region of North Carolina.

Chich-fil-A is the most recent fast food chain to try out plant-based food alternatives. Burger King, McDonald’s, and Jack in the Box have all recently introduced such options into their own separate menu.
