Apple reveals the hidden upgrades that improve the audio on the AirPods Pro 2. And for those users who really don’t know about airflow, just know that it is more important than might have originally thought.
Apple Reveals the Hidden Upgrades That Improve the Audio on the AirPods Pro 2
Tech company apple has now managed to improve the studio quality on the AirPods pro 2 significantly without the need for support for lossless audio. And with that being said, apple engineer Esge Anderson in a new interview has revealed some of the secrets about how that was achieved.
It’s all about the airflow, Anderson revealed to What Hi-Fi? In a wide-ranging type of discussion. Anderson reportedly works for the acoustics team at apple and has further described how the company wanted to give everybody “an AirPods Max in their pocket”.
The AirPods Pro 2 and the Original AirPods Pro Design and Differences
And while the overall design of the AirPods Pro 2 almost matches the original AirPods Pro identically, they have vents that have been redesigned to optimize airflow for audio drivers and that apparently was key to getting the improvement in sound.
“When we talk about good sound, it’s all about how we move the air in the product – which is kind of weird because it’s not talking about the enclosure or how it looks – but it’s about ensuring that we also design for airflow,” Anderson said.
AirPods Pro 2 Offers both Deeper and Cleaner Highs with More Precise Bass
There was a focus particularly on improving the high-frequency response apparently, but the AirPods Pro 2 however offers both deeper and cleaner highs with more precise bass. Also, there is dedicated tuning at each level of volume.
Anderson also revealed just how the earbuds are designed to act slightly differently depending on the type of device they are connected to and that there is a panel of expert listeners who help to ensure that the sound is as good and impressive as possible.
